No GPSes, I understand, but a Spot?
I have a "Spot Sattelite GPS Messanger". I won this a couple years ago and have never set it up, but I'm thinking it would be a great item for people following the Cannonball.
It does use GPS technology, but there's no display. It only allows me to send an SOS message, a "send help" message and an "I'm OK" message. It posts my position to a web page every 10 minutes or so. So, it doesn't help me find my way along the course, but can help in an emergency and can allow people at home to see the actual track I'm making. Lonnie, is this device allowed? --Darryl Richman Follow my Cannonball blog! |

I was thinking about doing something similar myself... Also planning on mounting one or two GoPro video cameras on the bike as well.
