High desert, mountains and beautiful valleys, it truly is magnificent country, and even a nice 6,300 ft pass to get over and back. I took the Maxxon wireless brake light to test. As Lonnie says it failed the test. It really didn't work (the manufacturer actually says it will not work on a motorcycle) I had basically the same experience as Alan. It kinda worked at very low speeds but not at our speeds. Maybe Dave's suppliers one will work victor |

Just don't want you to get socked in the nose at tech when you then tell a rider they don't pass. FatDog Racing No.33 http://www.fatdogracing.blogspot.com http://www.fatdogvintagesalvage.com |

In the near future it will be about riders who thought they had it right only to find that the best of plans can change or fall apart. I might not make it to the Cannonball but I'd like to thank you Lonnie for making alot of dreams come true for alot of motorcycle riders who I know, from my experience, are going to have the ride of a lifetime thanks to your efforts. I am just saying we all have a lot tied up in this. Money, effort, time, and ....money. I am not whining about using a brake but, as you said many do not read this forum. So what if one shows up with that brake light at Kitty Hawk because he was inspired by the flyer in his packet, and he is told he doesn't tech out. I bought one and I will now write it off as tuition in the school of life. But I do have lots of other money invested in this venture. I am not upset by your decisions, I just do not want to have to scrub my participation as a result of them varying. Fair enough? RE: Wireless Brake Light
we'll send out an email tomorrow, warning against our premature recommendation of the maxxon. the email will also include a copy of the check list that you recived in your packet. the check list will allow me to start a file on each machine 5 1/2 weeks before the event.this check list should insure that there will be no surprises in kitty hawk.

Great, please understand I am not trying play devils advocate, but rather trying to get my ducks in a row by crossing all the proper t's and dotting the correct I's as I do not want any surprizes in Kitty Hawk either as I have myself and many others relying on my preparation. I understand the magnitude of what you have taken on as well as the financial ramifications you have bestowed upon yourself. If not for you, none of this would be possible. I both admire and respect it and only want it to be as flawless as you imagine it. FatDog Racing No.33 http://www.fatdogracing.blogspot.com http://www.fatdogvintagesalvage.com |

You are bad to the bone if you rode that in 36 hours and your slowest speed was 7 MPH. I live in SLO and know the road well. I have ridden my road bike to the Piedras Blancas Light House and back which is a hundred miles. That was plenty for one day. Good job. Best regards, Phil |

Best regards, Phil [/quote] Thanks Phil, I rode with the Santa Cruz Brevet group. I do lots of double centuries in California each year and I also do the Brevet series. I bicycle about 12,000 miles a year. Alan |
