Entry fees and prize money
well according to the legal beagles this is officially a road run and not a race.being a race would mean jumping thru a lot more hoops with the law in each state, and many more costs added to the final bill, and alot more rules.i want as few rules as possible.originally i had hoped that all entry fees in each class go to the one with the most mileage in the least amount of time in that class.of course that would then make it,by definition , a race. at this point i'm thinking of just slashing the cost of entry to nearly nothing ,and am looking for opinions on this subject.i haven't talked to decker yet about a possible award trophy for all who finish the race{oops i mean run}.most entrants i've talked to lately seem to only be interested in the ride.so thats encouraging.

RE: Entry fees and prize money
WITH SUCH A LIMITED ENTRY I PREDICT THERE COULD BE A 'RESELLING' OF ENTRY SPACES . SWAP MEETS LIKE HERSHEY FORBID THIS BUT CARLISLE ALLOWS IT AND SPACES ARE TRADED FOR BIG BUCKS. MAYBE YOU NEED A RULE HERE TOO?

RE: Entry fees and prize money
For many years I raced with NHRA Top fuel harley, The races had to be called exhibition because of politics with NHRA and Suzuki, $$$$. We had a 8 bike and a 16 bike field , NHRA had a unannounced purse and the racers each thru in a grand and that was split up between the 1st , 2nd and 3rd place, with 1st place receiving the largest sum.

RE: Entry fees and prize money
[as a newbie with shallow pockets, I would be in favor of no prize money and a lower entry fee. There are going to be enough other costs to cover. Nothing to prevent some "unofficial" side pools set up by riders. I'm happy to do the ride. A "finished the route" trophy would be excellent. Richard
