Tore my Achilles Tendon. Now What?

Tore my Achilles Tendon. Now What?
Dr told me today I tore my Achilles tendon on left ankle and need to wear a soft cast for 6-8 weeks then a month of PT. Not good as the Cannonball leaves in a little more than 7 weeks from today.

I am going to do everything I can to be there and riding when we pull out of Newburgh. But no riding for me from now until then!

Sorry to hear about this. Hopefully time will heal it. At least the bike is pretty much ready.

I also heard today that our youngest rider Jesse Spellicy had someone turn left in front of him. Messed him up pretty bad. He's not going to make the run.

Hope everyone takes care.

Thanks for the well wishes and terribly sorry to hear about Jesse. Is he OK?

We should get an update on Jesse from Mark Hill this weekend. I think the rest of the students are still pushing to get that Henderson done in time, and drawing straws to see who's going to ride it.

Feel bad for him but perhaps some other person will still geta ride of a lifetime.

My 1929 Harley is pretty much ready to go, now I have to make sure I am too. Tough limping around with this cast on but I know it could be worse and I am so looking forward to the ride in September.

RE: Tore my Achilles Tendon. Now What?
Feel terrible for Jeff and have my fingers crossed for him for good luck. I have been wearing the soft cast on my left ankle 24 hours a day and night for 2 weeks. Surgeon tells me I need to wear it for another 4 weeks. That leaves one week from removing the cast to the start of the Cannonball. Tight but can do.

I am keeping my fingers crossed for all of our "walking wounded". Any further news on Jesse Spellicy and the SUNY team?
