Other Route Recommendation

After spending much too long on the Google maps I laid out a route I'd like others to at least consider. It runs from Eastport, CA (in the west) to Westport, CT (in the east). It is a little over 3,200 miles.

I have not figured out how to post the route here, but, as I have it plotted out, the ride would take 14 days coast to coast with each day ranging from 163 miles the very last day, otherwise the lowest daily miles is 201, the most is 301 miles.

Carson City, NV to Eureka, NV 231 miles
Eureka NV to Eureka UT 301 miles
Eureka UT to Dinosaur, CO (love the name) 222 miles
Dinosaur CO to Glen Comfort, CO 274 miles
Glen Comfort, CO to Benkelman, NE 223 miles
Benkelman, NE to Milford, NE 258 miles
Milford, NE to Lucerne, MO 254 miles
Lucerne, MO to Pekin, IL 219 miles
Pekin, IL to Peru, IN 201 miles
Peru, IN to Greenwich, OH 204 miles
Greenwich, OH to Pigeon, PA 220 miles
Pigeon, PA to Scranton, PA 230 miles
Scranton, PA to Westport, CT and easy 163 miles.

If necessary we could add a few miles per day here and there and perhaps cut a full day or even two out of the route, but that's up for discussion.

My thinking is that we don't want to trash the bikes or ourselves, but we also should not set such to slow pace as to remove the fun and challenge. I figure if we are riding at an average of 25-30 mph for 8 hours a day for almost 14 days, that would be more tiring than most of us are used to.

When I used my gps San Francisco to Virginia Beach Va. normal auto route is 3100miles. Using B roads (bicycle route)for the same ride they say 3800miles. I have the maps.
I would think regardless of route, add 600/700 miles to auto routes.
Your milage of 3217 miles seems a little short, or did I miss something?
