2012 Cannonball
Here are a couple photos of the 1929 KJ Henderson I'm currently working on for the anticipated 2012 Cannonball. I bought this bike as a "basket" but pretty much all there. Engine cases were beautiful (never any welding) and have just started re-assembly of the engine with babbitt, boring, pistons etc. The paint is dark blue and will remain as "used". Should be a great rider and this time I will have many miles on it before Sept 2012. I'm sharing this as I hope others will start posting new things on this website to get the excitement re-started. RE: 2012 Cannonball
The KJ is an interesting machine Kris. I sold one of my runner VLs to a friend (Bob Moodie) from the Viking Chapter back in the early eightys. He bang around on the 34 for a couple of years and then ran across a KJ. We fooled around with it a one of the meets trying to get it to run better, but it had problems with both ignition and carburation, we gave up after a while so I never got to ride it. The Hens are uncommon in my neck of the woods and I have never seen one on the road runs I have attended. Looking forward to riding alongside you and the KJ next year.

Hey Kris When you get a chance, Could you measure the overall length of you bike. I would also like to know the overall weight, without rider. Just thinking ahead, Thanks

RE: 2012 Cannonball
Looks to be about 57" long. Just a guess but I would say no more than 500 lbs

Hey Kris - looks good and should be a nice comfy ride. What's your brother going to ride? Be well.

RE: 2012 Cannonball
The new route looks good. 300 miles a day for two weeks will be a test, but should be managable for anyone with a well prepared machine. The heat should not be nearly so hard to deal with on this northern trail. I know it's almost a year away, but last years ride seems like yesterday, and my mental memory card has been sending out random pictures of that adventure.

RE: 2012 Cannonball
Wish I had a Henderson, but am looking seriously at a low compression 1926 Harley J I have. Already was modified with a front brake by previous owner.

We recently stripped it down as a racer at Wheels Through Time, guess I'd have to add the fenders and lights and rack back on for the Motorcycle Cannonball.
