Now that we are told the chase vehicles can not follow the bikes, what are the plans for bikes that run out of gas along the route?

Some riders have larger gas tanks, and others have auxiliary tanks. But what about the guys with stock small gas tanks who might not have sufficient capacity to make it to the next gas stop?

This could be a real problem for some.

actually, not having the personal chase vehicles cluttering up the route was the first rule that was made way back in september of 2009. you are not "just now" being told of this. there will be approximatly 8 staff vehicles, and 8 sidecars following along on our route ,each of which will be able to carry gas. if you look at your sample course instructions you will notice that gas stops are clearly marked . all but 4 gas stops are within 50 miles of each other. only 4 gas stops along the entire route are more than 50 miles apart, and they are about 75 miles apart. on these gas stops that are more than 50 miles apart ,we will have a vehicle with gas waiting in a pre-determined area that will be marked on your course instructions. if a rider can't make 50 miles between gas stops then they need to carry their own reserve gas can. all of this was discussed in the event regulations that each rider recieved back in june.

Thanks. I figured you might have this covered.
